US Marshal Impersonator Arrested at Robert Kennedy Jr Event

CNN reports that an armed man, who was accused of impersonating a federal officer, was arrested outside a Robert F. Kennedy Jr campaign event in Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Police Department received a call that a man with a loaded gun, holster, and a US marshals service badge was present outside the theater where the Democratic presidential candidate was scheduled to give a speech.

Fortunately, no one was injured as Kennedy’s security team surrounded the man and he was later apprehended by the LAPD, with the FBI also being on the scene.

The man claimed to be part of Kennedy’s security team and insisted on being taken to the candidate immediately. He was ultimately charged with carrying a concealed weapon and booked accordingly.

Kennedy expressed his gratitude for the swift response of the Los Angeles police, as his requests for Secret Service protection have previously been denied. He plans to reapply for protection later this month.
